Make Sure Someone Knows How To Pin On Your Boutonniere
For your wedding or black tie event, are you planning to wear a boutonniere on your suit or tuxedo? If so, make sure that someone knows how to properly pin it on you. (And, WHERE to pin it on you) For your education and reference, here are some quick and easy to follow tips for pinning on a boutonniere.
Pinning on a Boutonniere is Easier Than You Think
Pinning on a boutonniere may look tricky, but it is a lot easier than you think. Here are some quick and easy things to know. And, remember to avoid stabbing someone or popping off the head of the flower.
- Use two floral pins to pin on your boutonniere.
- Pin the boutonnière onto the left lapel of the tuxedo jacket or suit jacket
- When you pin on the boutonniere, follow the angle of the lapel. I recommend placing it above the buttonhole.
- To secure the boutonniere, insert a floral pin through the back of the lapel and into the boutonnière’s stem in one direction.
- With the second floral pin, you should insert it from the opposite direction to create a crisscross pattern for extra stability.
Ask the Florist or Your Wedding Planner to Help You Pin on A Boutonniere
If your florist or wedding planner is available on your wedding day, they can take care of the boutonniere for you.
