The End of a Dessert Era
Last month, I hosted my last “Girls Only” Dessert Party. I have been hosting this annual party with my girlfriends for the last ten years, so I thought it was time retire it. The talented Le’Trice Penn of LEPENN Designs created all of the party paper for us. Everyone received an invitation with a fresh baked cookie inside. (And, don’t you love the ombre tissue in the invitation box?!?) The pink ombre’ menu cards described the yummy desserts I prepared for my guests! My little guy gave one to each guest as she arrived at the party. And, then there were the desserts . . .
Craving a Little Bit of Cheesecake?
You cannot have a dessert party for your lady friends and not serve cheesecake!!! So, I was thrilled to serve this decadent praline crusted cheesecake.
Boozy Milk Shake Shooters
My words of advice for the evening was, “Sip slowly or I call you a cab.”
The BEST Chocolate Cake
This was the best chocolate cake with buttercream icing and it was topped with chocolate shavings!
A Cheese Course
There was definitely a yummy cheese display for the guests who were not interested in sweets.
A Nostalgic Favor
Everyone went home with my famous homemade pound cake! I made the pound cake from scratch, and it came with a warning. “I use four sticks of butter in this cake recipe!”
