It’s Wedding Week on the DC News Now Lifestyle Show
Last week was “wedding week” on the DC News Now lifestyle show, Living Local DMV—a fun and informative program that airs on the DCW50 network. I (Kawania Wooten) had the absolute pleasure and honor of being a guest on the show to talk all about 2023 wedding trends and the impact of Generation Z.
During my interview with the show’s wonderful host, Charis Gomez, we dove into some of the most exciting shifts happening in the wedding industry. As someone who has spent decades helping couples plan their dream weddings, I loved sharing my perspective on how engaged couples are reimagining their celebrations.

I talked about national wedding trends we’ve seen emerge this year, such as personalized guest experiences, creative food and beverage stations, and the rise of sustainable wedding choices. Wedding Planning Priorities Are Different for Gen Z Couples
One of my favorite parts of the conversation was discussing Generation Z couples because their wedding planning priorities look a little different from past generations. Gen Z couples care deeply about authenticity, intentional design, and making sure their wedding reflects their unique love story. They’re not afraid to break traditions, and I find that so inspiring!
