Don’t Forget to Love on Your Spouse on Your Wedding Day

Your Wedding Day Will Go By Faster Than You Can Imagine

Your wedding day will move faster than you can imagine. One moment, you’re slipping into your gown or tuxedo, and the next, you’re waving goodbye to guests as the night comes to an end. Between the hugs, congratulations, and endless conversations, it’s surprisingly easy to forget to pause and love on your newly minted spouse.

Believe me, I understand this all too well. On my own wedding day, I spent so much time greeting family and chatting with friends that I barely danced with Chris Wooten (aka my husband). Sigh. If I could do it all over again, I would slow down, stay present, and create more intentional moments with him.

Make Your Spouse Your Top Priority on Your Wedding Day

If you’re an engaged couple planning your wedding, here’s my heartfelt advice: make your spouse your top priority on your wedding day. Build small but meaningful moments into your timeline. Steal a quiet moment together after the ceremony, enjoy a private dinner before the reception begins, or commit to dancing together for at least two songs. These are the memories that will stay with you long after the cake is cut and the lights come up.

My Best Wedding Day Tips About Loving On Your New Spouse

I recently shared more of my best wedding day tips on Perfete, where I offer practical advice to help brides and grooms stay connected and savor the day together. If you want your wedding to feel romantic, joyful, and deeply personal, I encourage you to give it a read.

Your wedding day is a celebration of your love story. Don’t let the busy schedule keep you from fully experiencing it together.
