Washington DC Wedding Day Love for Kristie and Andrew

A Beautiful Wedding at the Carnegie Institution for Science

Today, we feel so blessed to show some love to the wedding of a Howerton+Wooten Events couple!  Kristie and Andrew were married at the Carnegie Institution for Science in Washington, DC a couple of years ago, but we neglected to showcase their wedding day! (We are fixing that now!)

The Groom’s Tuxedo is Where Fashion Meets Family Legacy

Andrew’s tuxedo was a very special one. The groom’s tuxedo was actually the same tuxedo worn by bride’s father on his wedding day. When Andrew tried it on, it was a perfect fit! The only change the groom had to make was making the “bell bottom” tuxedo pants a little more modern.

The Bride Wore A Silk, Strapless Wedding Dress with a Crossover Bodice

Our bride, Kristie, wore a strapless Hayley Paige Londyn Gown that she purchased from the Georgetown DC salon, Lovely Bride.  Kristie’s wedding gown had a silk, crossover bodice, a full, tulle skirt with horsehair flounces and a chapel train. It was stunning!

A Wedding Filled with Warmth, Laughter, and Love

When you walked into Kristie and Andrew’s wedding, you felt completely at home. The couple assigned family members and friends to greet and welcome wedding guests upon their arrival. These family style actions truly set the tone for a warm, welcoming environment. And, when I say, a warm environment, their wedding day music was humming familiar tunes; the laughter was light; and the children were plentiful.

A Wedding Design That Felt Both Modern and a Little Rustic

Their wedding design was a delicate juxtaposition between modern and rustic. A classic color palette of navy, champagne and gold was used throughout the attire and décor. The wedding day flowers, created by Falls Flowers, featured succulents, pebbles, and Manzanita branches.

Hand Lettering Will Always Embody A Custom Wedding Design

Kristie has a love for the written word! She used a unique font for her wedding day programs and signage, and she enlisted the hand-lettering skills of her new sister-in-law on her wedding invitations and escort cards. Thank you for enjoying Kristie and Andrew’s wedding with us!  Enjoy the holiday season!
