Why is There an “M” on the Wedding RSVP Card?
Have you ever received a response card for a wedding or event, and noticed the “M” and a line? Did you wonder, “why is there an ‘M’ on the the RSVP card?” Did you also wonder what you are supposed to write on the line?
The “M” Kick Starts Your Name
Simply put, the purpose of the “M” is to place your name on the line. You start your name with Mr., Mrs. or Mx., hence the “M”. Nowadays, some couples are putting “Name” and a line after instead of an “M” to avoid confusion. Also, the “M” doesn’t provide a space for your wedding guests who are doctors, elected officials, or ministers.
