Hi there! It’s Adriana again!
This week, I have answers to some of those wedding planning questions you always wanted to know, but were afraid to ask!
First up — Why is there an “M” on the RSVP card?
If you have received a response card for a wedding or special event, I am sure you may have noticed the “M” and the line.
Have you ever wondered why it’s there? What are you supposed to put on the line after it?
Simply put, its purpose is to place your name on the line after a Mr. or Mrs., hence the “M”.
Nowadays, some brides are putting “Name” and a line after instead of an “M” to avoid confusion. Plus, this new style helps for your wedding guests who are doctors or ministers.
- Here is an example of the traditional way — Mr. and Mrs. Christopher Wooten
- Here is an example of the contemporary way – Name: Mr. and Mrs. Christopher and Kawania Wooten
What if your wedding guest wasn’t married and bringing a guest? How does she respond on the RSVP?
- Here is an example of the traditional way — Miss Kawania Howerton and Mr. Christopher Wooten
- Here is an example of the contemporary way – Name: Ms. Kawania Howerton and Mr. Christopher Wooten
Happy Inviting!
Truly, Adriana
